Welcome to my gallery of oil paintings! My journey as an artist began during my own time of healing after an illness--a season that opened my heart to new ways of seeing and expressing the world around me. In that stillness, I discovered a God-given gift and a calling to paint. Classes with both Kay Witherspoon and Jeanne Hougen, both Colorado artists, have expanded my knowledge and skills, and I am deeply grateful to both. I am also a nurse with over 25 years of experience in caring for others, and I continue to love my career as a nurse and a painter. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Indiana University and a Master of Science in Nursing from Clemson University.
 

​Over the years, I have served in both bedside and leadership roles within the hospital and home health settings, experiences that have deepened my understanding of healing, compassion, and the human spirit. Alongside painting, music is another creative thread in my life, and I hold a diploma from the International Guild of Piano Musicians. I find that both art and music flow from the same source: a desire to connect with something greater than ourselves.  Nature has always been my greatest teacher and source of peace. I love to spend time in nature with my camera capturing the quiet beauty of forests, animals, and landscapes that inspire my paintings. I am also a Pilates teacher and I love the flow of exercise and the connection to being in the body.​

After a unique experience with an owl, I have experienced a much deeper inner connection to nature. I have a collection of feathers that I find while in nature and you will sometimes find a tiny feather in my works. Through my art, I strive to express the wonder of our earth, and my goal is to portray scenes where the viewer can almost feel the air and the wonder of nature. I hope that my work brings you that same sense of peace, reflection, and connection that I feel while creating it.
